The Facilities Maintenance Technician is at the forefront of delivering top-level support, being part of a service-leading department. In this role, you will support our manufacturing factory facilities equipment and control systems, as well as building operations. You will ensure our facilities equipment runs smoothly and support our technical operations. The ideal candidate will independently execute day-to-day operations and maintenance activities and be willing to tackle facility service and repair issues hands-on. You will work closely with all members of the Form Energy team to contribute to sustaining a world-class facility. Responsibilities

  • Support a safe, reliable facility by providing exceptional customer service with all facility equipment and controls systems, as well as factory issues and needs.
  • Perform industrial equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and root cause analysis on all facilities equipment as needed.
  • Become proficient with our Computerized Maintenance Management System, Maintain X, to complete work requests and record process findings of maintenance duties.
  • Become proficient using our Building Automation System software to monitor all factory control systems, diagnose and correct faults with facility equipment, and troubleshoot as required.
  • Ensure facility automated equipment with PLCs, HMIs, and process control equipment functions as designed; troubleshoot as required.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Perform inspections of equipment including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, building HVAC equipment, air compressors, electrical systems, fire alarm and suppression systems, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, first aid cabinets, AEDs, etc. Record, troubleshoot, and correct findings as required.
  • Execute facility installations such as installing water distribution, equipment airlines, low-voltage electrical circuits, 120-volt up to 480-volt 3-phase electrical circuits, and data ethernet installations, including terminating into network cabinets.
  • Support manufacturing and engineering team members with related facilities activities within the factory, including all work and service requests via Form’s CMMS, Maintain X.
  • Participate in pre-task planning, coordination, and communication with all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Technical School Diploma in an applicable field of study: Electrical, Controls, Automation, HVAC, or other related Facility Technology.
  • Computerized CMMS, SCADA, and tablet software experience.
  • Equipment Controls experience with PLC and HMI functions.
  • Electrical journeyman’s license or master electrician with 5+ years of experience or equivalent. NFPA 70E training is a plus.
  • HVAC technician certification with 5+ years of experience.
  • Licensed Water Operator for West Virginia or equivalent state license (Class 1 or above) with 5+ years of experience. Backflow Prevention Inspection certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with a focus on facilities maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, installation of building systems utilities, and customer service.
  • Experience troubleshooting malfunctions within complex control systems for factory utility systems, such as:
    • Process Cooling Towers
    • Boilers
    • Chillers
    • Air Compressors
    • Fire Alarm Systems
    • Fire Suppression Systems
    • Electrical Power Emergency Generators
    • Battery Backup Centers
    • Security Camera Networks
    • Badge Door Access with Card Readers and Turnstiles
    Major components include: HMIs, PLCs, Contactors, Motors, Pumps, Valves, Solenoids, Proximity, Flow, and Tamper Switches, and Air Dampers.

Schedule

This position follows a 12-hour alternating work week schedule. A steady night turn position is available.

Location

This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing.
