Facilities Maintenance Technician

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform skilled/manual work functions associated with general maintenance of assigned facilities.
• Install/repair plumbing systems, lay tile flooring, and troubleshoot HVAC units.
• Under general supervision, perform a variety of routine semi-skilled maintenance for facilities.
• Ensure facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.
• Repair and maintain facilities and equipment; perform general construction, repair, and installation tasks.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, landscaping, and other tasks.
• Operate a variety of maintenance and cleaning tools and equipment; perform related work as required.
• Work independently or with other skilled or semi-skilled workers with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.
• Perform general maintenance, repair, and installation tasks such as installing/repairing doors, changing light bulbs, locks, fences, light plumbing duties, plumbing fixtures; replacing windows; repairing gutters and roof leaks; assembling furniture or equipment; hanging pictures, blinds, and moving furniture.
• Maintain inventory levels of tools and materials; order supplies as needed; pick up special parts from supplier as appropriate.
• Identify and request supplies needed for tasks related to repairs and preventive maintenance of building systems.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing or electrical or a related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience in HVAC, plumbing or electrical or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
