About the Role

This position works out of our Columbus, Ohio plant location in the Abbott Nutrition Division. The Columbus Plant is Abbott's first manufacturing facility in the world, making us a leader in science-backed nutrition products.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve plant building and grounds including but not limited to HVAC systems, plant utility distribution systems, floor, wall and ceiling surfaces, roofs, drain systems, doors, landscaping, weed management and snow removal.
  • Perform plant and/or office facilities maintenance duties such as furniture moving, maintenance of office equipment, simple electrical projects, painting or cleaning, light construction or exterior clean up.
  • Perform work in more than one of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical and HVAC, sheet metal fabrication, and welding, perform construction, repair, and/or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures (Senior Level).
  • Preventative maintenance: Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment and report problems to supervisor as appropriate.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications (Senior Level).
  • Remove snow from entrances and docking areas by using appropriate equipment.
  • May be involved in other activities such as parking lot repairs, dock door work, dairy brick and epoxy flooring repairs, waste paper recycling, inter-office transportation, set-up of audiovisual equipment, and stocking of coffee areas.
  • Initiate or maintain schedule for projects and project milestones.
  • Propose solutions independently; make decisions on projects.
  • Record/document work activities and report needed future work using Abbott CMMS.
  • Work from a weekly list of scheduled PMs and other Work Orders, but also respond to immediate needs for Facilities Maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years experience in Industrial Maintenance or Facility Maintenance
  • Able to work from heights and ladders

Pay

The base pay for this position is $20.85 – $41.75 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
