Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
About the role
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for technical support, direction, safety training, audits and quality control for Amentum's facility, production, and/or contract employees in a fast-paced industrial production environment. The Supervisor is responsible for prioritizing work based on client needs and ensuring timely completion of all work, along with all documentation.
Responsibilities
- Maintains effective performance of individual employees and the worksite team.
- Reviews and approves time reporting.
- Compiles, maintains, and presents various reports to Amentum management and client teams.
- Participates and documents cost savings and root cause analysis.
- Maintains and audits work performance for safety actions and quality of work, providing coaching as needed.
- Manages reactive/corrective maintenance as reported and distributes to available technicians.
- Monitors and/or manages the entry of correct documentation and scheduled maintenance via Maximo/SAP.
- Leads safety programs for the worksite and maintains reporting associated with safety activities.
- Reviews new job requests to differentiate between in-scope and non-scope work and addresses accordingly.
- Schedules, plans, documents, maintains performance, and reports with Amentum management team and client.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least ten years of experience in a technical role related to industrial production maintenance and/or industrial facilities maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of supervisory experience in one of the following fields: industrial facilities/plant/operations management, maintenance management, janitorial, commercial facility services, and/or subcontractor management.
- Proficient in the daily use of programs within the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in a leadership position demonstrating the ability to analyze facilities maintenance related problems and determine solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the client, Amentum management, and team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in a field of engineering or other technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and supervisory skilled work experience, or trade school credentials and supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience creating PowerPoint presentations and giving presentations in front of large audiences.
- Experience in creating metrics and data mining for driving performance results.
- Experience utilizing continuous improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 4M’s, etc.

- Ability to communicate effectively with the client, Amentum management, and team members.
- Preferred qualifications include proficiency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line, and the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Physical Requirements
- Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
- Some tasks will require the ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday.
- Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
- Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access databases, to send/receive messages, and to prepare documents.
- Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other Amentum, customer, and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
- Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
- Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Additional Information
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position may require a valid Driver’s License. This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
Compensation Details
$94,000.00 - $98,000
