Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain buildings, grounds, utilities, and facility equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair requests.
- Monitor and support:
- Boilers
- Air compressors and air dryers
- Ammonia compressors
- Cooling towers
- CO2 systems
- Wastewater systems
- Lift station pumps
- Reverse-osmosis systems
- Complete basic electrical work, including replacing light fixtures and emergency exit signs.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs and replace sinks, toilets, faucets, and paper-towel dispensers.
- Complete painting, drywall repair, carpentry, and other general handyman work.
- Cook up with outside vendors and report major equipment issues.
- Maintain repair and inspection records.
- Follow OSHA, lockout/tagout, and company safety procedures.
- Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous facilities, building, industrial, or general maintenance experience.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with some of the listed utility systems is preferred.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, lifts, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical and Work Requirements
- Work indoors and outdoors in a manufacturing environment.
- Work around noise, machinery, chemicals, and changing weather conditions.
- Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work at heights when required.
- Use a boom lift and safety harness when necessary.
- Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
