About the role
Reports to Facilities Maintenance Manager. Participates in maintenance projects on ECUA properties and facilities. Performs various manual work functions associated with building and equipment maintenance. Performs general maintenance tasks necessary to maintain buildings, equipment, and tools in operable condition.
Responsibilities
- Custodial and sanitation services to provide a pleasant and sanitary environment for employees and the general public.
- Cleans and maintains equipment and ensures the proper use, repair, and storage of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Moves furniture, office equipment, and other objects; applies protective covers.
- Reads and interprets instructions; enters data into computer work order system.
- Works from heights (on ladders, scaffolds, and platforms), stands for long periods, and moves heavy equipment, materials, structures, and furniture.
- Maintains records related to material and equipment inventory and completed assignments.
- Removes and replaces molding and fixtures.
- Requisitions supplies and materials.
- Operates various types of heavy equipment, such as lifts and landscaping equipment.
- Patches and repairs drywall.
- Performs carpentry work as needed.
- Replaces and repairs fencing as needed.
- Repairs roof leaks, replaces ceiling tiles, changes light bulbs, clears clogged plumbing lines, installs plumbing fixtures and additional plumbing lines, repairs plumbing leaks, wraps and insulates pipes.
- Runs data cables and wires.
- Lifts and moves heavy materials, digs holes, and performs ground maintenance as required.
- Assists in air conditioning system installs and repairs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in facilities maintenance work.
- Basic computer skills.
Skills
- Methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment of the painting trade.
- Methods of preparing wood, metal, plaster, and other surfaces for finishing and refinishing.
- Different types of paints, stains, varnishes, and lacquers and their uses.
- Occupational hazards and special procedures applicable to the work.
- Safety regulations as taught in training such as the OSHA 10 hr class.
- Use of hand and power tools associated with electrical, plumbing, and general facilities maintenance.
- Operation, maintenance and minor repair of commercial cleaning equipment, such as floor machines and vacuum cleaners.
- Ability to push/pull 100 lbs and lift 75 lbs.
- Ability to work from heights (on ladders, scaffolds, and platforms), stand for long periods and move heavy equipment, materials, structures, and furniture.
- Multiply and divide decimals and fractions, etc. in order to estimate time, labor, and materials necessary to complete work orders.
- Maintain records related to the work.
- Read and interpret instructions.
- Enter data into computer work order system.

Pay
Salary range: $X - $Y per hour. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required.
