About the role

The Maintenance & Facilities Manager position is part of the Maintenance and Tool & Die team, working as an onsite employee. Key responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the primary guardian of workplace safety by enforcing OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Developing and implementing proactive maintenance plans, shifting the culture from reactive to Predictive and Preventative Maintenance using data analytics.
  • Maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimizing unplanned downtime by troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems.
  • Recruiting, training, and mentoring maintenance technicians and supervisors; managing shift schedules and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Preparing and managing the annual maintenance budget, including forecasting costs for parts, labor, and major capital expenditures (CAPEX).
  • Negotiating and managing contracts with external service providers and maintaining an optimized inventory of critical spare parts.
  • Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to track work orders, asset history, and KPIs.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisor or management role.
  • Thorough knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC systems.
  • Self-starting, results-oriented individual who is team-oriented.
  • Effective organization, time management, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and priorities as well as deal with ambiguity.
  • Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM), Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM) through AFE, or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) through SMRP (preferred).
  • Willing to work additional hours to cover off shifts for communication rhythms.
