About the role

Venue Nation is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Manager for Mystic Lake Amphitheater to oversee venue safety, mechanical operations, vendor partnerships, and overall property upkeep. This role ensures OSHA compliance, supervises maintenance staff, manages grounds and infrastructure, and upholds operational standards to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-maintained venue environment. This is a part-time seasonal position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Venue to OSHA and Safety Standards
    • Participate in monthly safety committee meetings
    • Ensure all safety standards meet OSHA requirements
    • Ensure safety equipment (fire extinguishers, safety glasses) is available and stocked
    • Coordinate with operations managers to maintain industry-standard property conditions
  • Mechanical Operations
    • Oversee plumbing and electrical systems to ensure operational standards
    • Complete light construction work in a timely manner
    • Maintain clean and standard painting work
  • Maintain relationships with local vendors
    • Foster professional relationships with local vendors
    • Conduct comparative price shopping
  • Grounds and landscape
    • Maintain upkeep of all exterior plants
  • Supervision of Department
    • Interview, select, train, and supervise department staff to ensure maximum guest satisfaction
    • Organize and conduct meetings, communicating pertinent information to staff
    • Provide a positive work environment and maintain open communication with crew
    • Arrange repair or replacement of damaged equipment
    • Purchase, re-order, and maintain adequate supplies and inventory of cleaning products
    • Conduct staff evaluations, outline goals, and propose raise recommendations
    • Ensure staff training is complete and satisfactory
    • Work with scheduling payroll administrator to meet staffing needs
    • Budget appropriately for each show’s needs while working toward the overall operating per-head goal

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of facilities, maintenance, or building operations experience
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety compliance standards
  • Experience overseeing plumbing, electrical, and general construction/repair work
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong vendor management and cost-control experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade certification or state/local licensing (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.)
  • Experience in live event, entertainment, or high-traffic venue environments
  • Budget management experience
  • Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs

Physical Work Requirements

  • Physical activities include walking, talking, seeing, hearing, pushing, balancing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and handling
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with considerable noise and interruptions
  • Must be able to change activity frequently

Pay

Expected compensation for this position is $20.00 – $25.00 USD hourly, based on market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
