Facilities & Maintenance Manager

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance and facilities operations for injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, paint systems, ovens, conveyors, robots, compressors, chillers, HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, grounds, and general building systems.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve equipment uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life.
  • Supervise, coach, schedule, and develop maintenance technicians and facilities personnel, ensuring proper coverage for production and facility needs.
  • Drive troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls, PLC, robotic, and process equipment issues.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements related to maintenance, facilities, paint operations, wastewater or air handling systems, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, confined space, and contractor safety.
  • Manage the maintenance work order system, equipment records, spare parts inventory, critical spare strategy, and maintenance KPIs such as downtime, PM completion, MTTR, MTBF, and maintenance cost.
  • Plan and manage maintenance budgets, capital improvement projects, facility upgrades, equipment installations, modifications, relocations, and contractor services.
  • Clock with production leadership to prioritize maintenance activities, schedule planned downtime, and ensure equipment readiness for current and future production requirements.
  • Support launch, engineering, and continuous improvement projects involving new tools, new equipment, automation, paint process changes, and facility improvements.
  • Lead 5S, TPM, lean manufacturing, energy reduction, waste reduction, and reliability improvement initiatives across maintenance and facilities.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are documented accurately and completed in accordance with company standards, OEM recommendations, and applicable procedures.
  • Maintain facility appearance, cleanliness, security readiness, emergency preparedness, and overall site functionality.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support plant operations and business priorities.

Required Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Facilities Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and progressive experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on experience with automated production equipment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in maintenance, facilities, engineering, or manufacturing support.
  • Experience maintaining injection molding equipment and related auxiliary systems such as dryers, loaders, grinders, chillers, temperature controllers, robots, and conveyors.
  • Experience supporting paint equipment and related systems such as paint booths, ovens, washers, pumps, mixers, filtration, air handling, ventilation, and environmental control systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls, PLC, robotic, HVAC, compressed air, and utility systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic diagrams, equipment manuals, and facility drawings.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system or work order system to manage PMs, repairs, parts, and maintenance records.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout, machine safety, contractor safety, and safe work practices in an industrial environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree of Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of automotive paint experience, preferably at the Tier 1 or OEM level.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in automotive, plastics, injection molding, painted plastics, or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Experience with capital project management, equipment installation, facility expansions, and contractor management.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and structured problem-solving methods.
  • OSHA 30, Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional, Certified Facilities Manager, or similar certification.
  • Experience with energy management, environmental reporting, paint process compliance, wastewater systems, or air permit requirements.
