Facilities Maintenance Lead Technician (Nights 7pm-7:30am)

About the role
Provide maintenance leadership to the Facilities Maintenance Department and perform supervisory duties in the absence of the Superintendent. Organize next-shift tasks during shift passdowns. This role involves highly technical mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting and repairs. Ensure all preventive maintenance (PM) and work orders are completed promptly to minimize equipment downtime and improve system reliability. Work closely with engineers, vendors, contractors, and customers as part of the maintenance team leadership. Communicate with upper levels of plant management regarding work progress or special problems affecting production or critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance project management for mechanical and electrical system issues.
- Develop root cause solutions to system problems to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead and direct the team in the absence of the Supervisor; participate in the Facilities Leadership Team (FLT) with weekly meetings.
- Offer technical expertise and training to all mechanic levels.
- Oversee maintenance project work and coordinate mechanics' activities.
- Hire and manage contract labor for small maintenance projects; escalate to superintendents for projects exceeding $10k or when independent action is not possible.
- Coordinate system shutdowns with other departments to minimize operational impact.
- Perform maintenance activities including PMs, CMs, and EMs using Maximo.
Requirements
- Must not be allergic to Penicillin or Cephalosporins.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school training preferred.
- 4+ years of prior maintenance experience with mechanical systems such as boilers, air conditioning equipment, chillers, and air compressors.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with water for injection is preferred.
- Experience with Baxter specifications and hardware/software control systems is desired.
- Proficiency with personal computers, including maintenance management systems and basic Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; sponsorship for employment visas is not available at this time.
Schedule
12-hour 2-2-3 shift schedule, Night Shift from 6:00 pm to 6:30 am.
Pay
The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 - $93,500 annually. The range reflects anticipated salary variations based on market data and other factors, including location, skills, expertise, and experience. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
