Facility Engineer opportunity supporting manufacturing operations at a major tractor production facility. This role provides engineering and project management services related to facility infrastructure, production equipment, and process improvements within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage multi-disciplinary facility and maintenance-related projects supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Provide engineering and project management services for facility infrastructure, production equipment, and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate and review Hot Work Requests and Red Tag reviews to support safe project execution.
  • Develop engineering designs for facility infrastructure, grounds, production equipment, and operational processes through internal and external resources using appropriate engineering disciplines.
  • Manage projects involving facility infrastructure, production machinery, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate project activities with design professionals, contractors, suppliers, operations teams, maintenance personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot facility infrastructure systems and production equipment to support manufacturing, maintenance, and distribution activities.
  • Perform life safety and building code analysis and assist in implementing programs designed to reduce workplace hazards and prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Support the identification and resolution of environmental, safety, health, and ergonomic concerns within the facility.
  • Coordinate activities related to Emergency Notification Systems (ENS), insurance-related facility requirements, information technology initiatives, and network-related projects.
  • Support the application, engineering, and installation of non-mobile material handling equipment.
  • Research and evaluate suppliers, materials, equipment, and service providers for maintenance, renovation, and construction projects.
  • Assist in obtaining competitive and negotiated sources for project-related materials, equipment, and services.
  • Assign, coordinate, and review the work of support staff and contract personnel as required.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment while managing multiple active projects and priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience coordinating multiple skilled trades and contractors to achieve project objectives.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with building infrastructure systems including mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience applying engineering principles within manufacturing operations.

Skills

  • Strong project planning, coordination, and execution skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, maintenance practices, and facility infrastructure systems.
  • Understanding engineering principles related to manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing concurrent projects and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with operations personnel, maintenance teams, contractors, and middle management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and workplace safety practices.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to facility systems and production equipment.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional project activities and maintain project schedules.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Emergency Notification Systems (ENS).
  • Experience coordinating facility-related insurance requirements and compliance activities.
  • Experience supporting information technology and network-related facility projects.
  • Experience with material handling equipment application, engineering, and installation.
  • Background in supplier sourcing, contractor management, and procurement support for facility and maintenance projects.

Pay

$43.92 - $43.92/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law.
