As a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator, you will ensure existing facilities are well maintained and repaired.

Responsibilities

The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator will facilitate and monitor repairs, manage contractors, identify and isolate larger problems, and provide direct oversight of all repairs, maintenance, and special project analysis and decisions. Specific tasks include:

• Facilitating and monitoring repairs: Fire Inspection Issues, exit sign light repairs, battery replacement for backup lighting, door and hardware adjustments and repair, key and key control assistance, electrical repairs, minor moves, adds, and changes, small wiring projects, and low voltage
• Managing contractors, including general contractors, plumbers, electricians, A/C replacements, locksmiths, fencing, playgrounds, site work, v/d, alarm and security systems, and roofers
• Identifying and isolating larger problems, meeting with contractors, obtaining bids, and monitoring time and materials, scheduling, and tracking of all maintenance-related issues and repairs
• Tracking and reporting the status of open projects, providing historical data for analyzing trends, and tracking time, mileage, materials, and tools
• Oversight of special projects, facilitating and troubleshooting ongoing construction and maintenance issues with schools and building services
• Creating and building preventative maintenance processes and monitoring systems for the extended life of facility-related components
• Maintaining and monitoring building compliance with Building Codes and Standards for local, city, county, state, and federal agencies

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a high school diploma with continuing education in a construction or facilities-related field, and at least 4 years of facilities-related maintenance and/or construction trade experience.

• Knowledge of construction trades and facilities maintenance requirements, including the ability to understand, communicate, and deal effectively with vendors and contractors
• Supervisory experience in leading work crews and direct oversight of technicians
• Ability to provide maintenance and repair management of multiple locations
• Strong knowledge and experience in reading and understanding building plans and blueprints
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with expert communication, writing, and documentation abilities
• Familiarity with OSHA, state and local building and fire codes, and inspection processes
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize wisely
• Computer knowledge and experience with all Microsoft Office software, with the ability to manage online documentation of service requests and utilize time and material tracking programs

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The work environment characteristics of this position include usual office working conditions, with some travel within or outside the state required. The physical demands of this job are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions, including light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
