About the role
Historic Tours of America seeks an individual to join our team in Nashville. This position is responsible for the preventative and general maintenance, inspection, and repair of the exhibit areas, building, grounds, and building equipment.Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, general maintenance, inspections, and installations/repairs to building, grounds, and building equipment, ensuring the business runs smoothly and the physical condition does not deteriorate.
- Notify the Manager concerning the need for major repairs.
- General maintenance duties include, but are not limited to, gathering/emptying trash, servicing, cleaning, and supplying restrooms, cleaning building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming, cleaning windows and mirrors, dusting furniture, walls, fixtures, and office machines, sweeping outdoor walkways, trimming vegetation/grass, and keeping grounds free of litter and weeds.
- Follow manufacturer procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
Requirements
- High degrees of self-motivation and the ability to work independently and as a team within the scope of established rules and regulations.
- Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in maintenance and construction.
- Ability to apply basic knowledge in multiple areas of carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, building maintenance, groundskeeping, and equipment repair.
- Ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and external entities.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- One to three years of general maintenance experience is preferred.
Other Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment MVR/background check and substance abuse testing.
- Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
