Facilities-Grounds & Landscaping

Job Duties

• Cut lawns using push or riding mowers, weed eaters, trimmers, blowers and edgers around walkways, flower beds, parking lots and buildings
• Installs landscaping by planting flowers, grass, and shrubs
• Applies pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as ants, mosquitos, wasps, and ticks
• Cleans roof systems and gutters of debris
• Trims trees, shrubs and pull weeds as needed
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment
• Rakes, mulches, and prunes landscaping beds as needed
• Periodically waters plants and applies fertilizer
• Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs on equipment
• Documents facilities and grounds maintenance requirements/maintains appropriate records of work performed in computerized maintenance database
• Operates heavy machinery such as skid steer and farm tractor
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned (i.e. furniture moving, event setup)
• Applies safety practices such as operational risk management to all duties

• Performs assigned tasks that provide school personnel, students, and the public with an environmentally safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to work and conduct school activities
• Must be able to work at a fast pace for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Willing to work overtime and on weekends occasionally
• Must be flexible, self-motivated, thorough
• Must pass background check
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have a valid GA driver's license
