About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building codes and regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations
• Inspect buildings during construction and upon completion to ensure adherence to approved plans
• Issue permits and maintain accurate records of all permit applications and inspections
• Provide technical guidance to contractors and developers on building code requirements
• Respond to inquiries from the public regarding building code compliance
• Participate in code enforcement activities and investigations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in building inspection or related field
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with building information modeling (BIM)
• Knowledge of energy efficiency standards and green building practices

$50,000 - $60,000 annually
