About the role

TSMC Arizona is a semiconductor fabrication plant that will produce cutting-edge chips using the latest process technologies. The Facilities Gas and Chemical Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Sustaining engineering support equipment for gas, chemical, and slurry distribution systems.
  • Overseeing operations and maintenance, ensuring system capacity meets demand, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Providing leadership in safety, reliability, quality, environmental, and cost objectives for facility systems.
  • Collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to enhance operational and maintenance efficiency.
  • Managing technical, administrative, financial, schedule aspects, strategic communications, and customer stakeholder relationships during projects.
  • Developing and implementing improvement roadmaps through capital and expense projects.
  • Managing system deliverables, including points of delivery, utility parameters, specification limits, and notification methods.
  • Writing scopes of work, bid request for proposals, specifying and ordering materials.
  • Executing project commissioning to ensure all chemical and gas systems equipment, components, and infrastructure function as designed.
  • Creating and communicating project documentation, including sequence of operations, installation procedures, and checklists for commissioning and start-up.
  • Leading design activities, creating construction documents, or managing external design teams.
  • Participating in emergency response team (ERT) duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 2 years’ experience working in semiconductor Facilities Chemical, Gas, or Slurry distribution Systems, and experience in designing, maintaining, or installing distribution piping, valve manifold boxes, gas cabinets, chemical supply pumping systems for hazardous and high-purity chemicals, slurry, and gases systems.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of chemical compatibility for materials used in process fluids and gases; materials of construction needed for chemical and gas systems to meet semiconductor high-purity requirements.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Communication, computer proficiency, presentation skills, listening, teamwork.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, adjust heavy objects, work in awkward positions, and adjust to various weather conditions.
  • Shift Expectations: Standard shift is M-F 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM. May work compressed work weeks, night shifts, and weekend on-call rotations.
