About the Role

Sodexo is seeking a Facilities / Engineering Operations Manager 2 for Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital in San Diego, CA. In this operational leadership role you will oversee and optimize facilities and engineering services to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant performance across all systems and teams. You will manage mechanical systems, maintenance workflows, budgeting, safety programs, and client relationships while developing staff and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision for facilities support services to ensure client satisfaction, uphold company standards, and drive revenue and growth opportunities.
  • Oversee and optimize facilities and engineering services for safety, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Manage mechanical systems and maintenance workflows.
  • Develop and manage budgets, safety programs, and client relationships.
  • Develop staff, set direction, and deploy resources; conduct performance evaluations, pay reviews, and hire/fire decisions.
  • Influence and negotiate with other parts of the organization to achieve results.
  • Accountable for business, functional, or operational areas, processes, or programs, including dotted‑line or matrixed management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience.
  • 3–5 years of related experience managing facilities, mechanical systems, or engineering operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing facilities, mechanical systems, or engineering operations in a complex environment.
  • Technical skills combined with financial acumen to support budgeting, resource allocation, and performance tracking.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging frontline teams, vendors, and client stakeholders.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of CMMS/work order systems and experience using data and reporting to drive operational improvements.
  • Proactive, safety‑first mindset with the ability to coordinate multiple projects while ensuring compliance and service excellence.

Pay

$103,445 – $133,870 per year
