About the role
This 1-year opportunity supports early-stage project development within a refinery and chemical complex environment, with a focus on cross-functional project performance, concept selection, stakeholder alignment, and project stewardship. The role offers exposure to planning, Gate reviews, schedule development, contractor management, and value-driven project competitiveness across integrated engineering and business functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional, integrated projects through early project development phases and Gate review processes.
- Handle project planning, schedule development, and coordinate deliverable reviews to achieve project goals and timelines.
- Manage contractors and steward project, functional, and business support to drive timely technical review and action resolution.
- Support concept selection, project road mapping, and business case development during planning and select stages.
- Assemble and lead project teams across multiple disciplines.
- Align stakeholders on project objectives, strategies, schedules, cost, and value delivery.
- Drive project competitiveness through benchmarking, target setting, brownfield verification, and FEL quality.
- Mentor less experienced project practitioners.
Requirements
- Experience within a refinery, chemical, manufacturing, or similar industrial project environment.
- Experience leading cross-functional, integrated projects through early project development phases and Gate review processes.
- Experience in project planning, schedule development, and coordinating deliverable reviews.
- Experience managing contractors and stewarding project, functional, and business support.
- Experience supporting concept selection, project road mapping, and business case development.
Skills
- Strong capability in assembling and leading project teams across multiple disciplines.
- Ability to align stakeholders on project objectives, strategies, schedules, cost, and value delivery.
- Knowledge of concept optimization, risk identification, and mitigation planning in project development.
- Strong project stewardship, communication, and coordination skills across engineering, operations, safety, environmental, planning, and construction functions.
