We are a company dedicated to improving the world through advanced ceramics manufacturing. Our Facilities Engineer II role is crucial in ensuring our equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
Responsibilities
- Support utility systems, maintenance operations, and capital project execution to ensure equipment uptime and overall facility reliability.
- Lead and support predictive, preventive, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM/TPM) programs, including development of maintenance strategies, check sheets, predictive techniques, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance.
- Provide advice and consultation to Management Team regarding facilities engineering matters, including compliance with federal/state laws and regulations; coordinate facilities engineering project activities with other departments; prepare data and documents for use during governmental or customer inquiries and audits.
- Serve as a key technical resource for facilities and maintenance, working closely with Operations, Engineering, and EHS to improve equipment uptime, troubleshoot issues, and support manufacturing processes.
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to plan materials, coordinate schedules, and support capital projects from concept through execution, including budgeting, vendor management, and project reporting.
- Negotiate, administer, interpret, and/or enforce purchase orders for specialized facilities work such as water utility, backflow prevention, alarm systems, or other, etc.; perform engineering project management work to include preparing budgets, project execution, resolving work problems, recommending contract change orders, preparing progress reports, and reviewing invoices/authorizing payments.
- Oversee maintenance and modification of computerized process control systems, maintenance management systems, and the facilities change notice procedure.
- Utilize strong technical expertise to support CAD/3D design work, system layout, and facility improvements, and contribute to programming or system-level troubleshooting (e.g., controls, HMI, or building systems as needed).
- Apply data analysis and Excel skills to monitor performance, track reliability metrics, and support decision-making.
- Coordinate with Operations and Process Engineering to assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project, such as technical studies, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and testing; recommend teams of trades and operators needed.
- Prepare budget request for work unit; estimate staffing and capital equipment needs based on recent trends and planned activities; monitor expenditures after budget adoption; submit or approve requisitions for purchase of materials and supplies.
- Partners with EHS, Maintenance, Operations and Engineering to support multi-disciplinary demands of the Manufacturing processes and operations.
- Assist and/or perform in any and all areas as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing environment
- Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong technical background in facilities, utilities, and/or industrial systems (mechanical, electrical, or chemical preferred); experience with equipment uptime, reliability engineering, TPM, and preventive maintenance programs; proven project management experience (capital projects, contractor management, budgeting); experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams; proficiency with CAD or 3D design tools (preferred); experience with process control systems, building management systems, or HMI/controls programming (preferred); strong analytical skills with Excel and data tracking for performance/reliability metrics; experience with ERP systems such as SAP (S/4HANA preferred) or similar platforms; ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities; excellent oral/written communications (including writing clear reports), organizational expertise, and team building/effective conflict resolution skills; must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Additional Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 8:00am–5:00pm
- Travel: Up to 10% (occasional travel to other sites)

Target Hiring Range
Annual Salary: USD 92,000.00 - USD 121,440.00
Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
