Facilities Engineer

Job Summary

The Facilities Engineer at Roblox will lead all aspects of the Cafe Infrastructure, assist with various programs, web pages, and special projects, and serve as the primary technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair cafe equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive Maintenance Program for Cafe Equipment Operations
• Oversee and maintain multiple Roblox Cafés, ensuring the expected level of operations regarding the physical area, refrigeration equipment, Fire Suppression system, and management of service providers and/or vendors' equipment
• Serve as the primary technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair cafe equipment, minimizing downtime and reducing reliance on external vendors whenever possible
• Experience, aptitude, and working knowledge of commercial Café/Kitchen components and systems: troubleshoot issues, research common operational problems, and determine when specialty vendors need to be called in
• Possess solid understanding of building infrastructure, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, water filtration, refrigeration, and HVAC
• Be responsible for coordinating all preventive maintenance programs within the Café (to include kitchen and dining area), whether self-performed or led, and facilitating repairs or replacement as warranted when approved by Roblox
• Establish lines of communication with all team members within the Café operation, Roblox Facilities Department, associated service providers, including Service by Medallion Janitorial management/staff
• Aptitude to use computers, apps/software tools, or other relevant/required technology as needed to perform and communicate in the role
• Knowledgeable of all Safety (CalOSHA) and become familiar with all relevant Health Codes & Regulations applicable to Café/Kitchen operations

Requirements

• 10+ years Facilities/Cafe Operations experience
• Expert at building relationships with customers and enjoy customer service
• Knowledgeable with technology in a fast-paced environment
• Resourceful, exhibit patience under pressure, and are capable of finding solutions
• A strong communicator and self-starter
• Well organized and detail oriented with excellent multi-tasking ability
• Hands-on, proactive, and able to respond quickly to operational needs with urgency
• Comfortable taking ownership of repairs and being the first line of response before escalating to vendors

Qualifications

• Experienced with troubleshooting and repairing commercial café/kitchen components and systems
• Understanding of building infrastructure, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, water filtration, refrigeration, and HVAC
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair common issues pertaining to cafe equipment, furniture, cabinetry, millwork, laminates, plumbing fixtures, and interior building finishes
• Knowledge of safety regulations and health codes applicable to café/kitchen operations
