Role Summary This position involves managing and maintaining critical infrastructure within FAA-specific facilities in the Minneapolis, MN area. The role requires traveling throughout the region to support multiple locations, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and securely. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing physical facilities, supporting telecommunications infrastructure, and maintaining power and security systems critical to national airspace management. Responsibilities Monitor, maintain, and optimize physical facilities, including generators, HVAC, racks, cabling, and site security systems. Escort technical personnel and manage visitor access to protect sensitive equipment and restricted areas. Lead installation, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment such as switches, routers, and fiber-optic cabling. Troubleshoot and maintain critical DC power systems, rectifiers, and battery backups to ensure uninterrupted operations. Regularly review technical designs and contractor work to ensure compliance with safety and technical standards. Support the FAA suitability process and assist during initial short-term contract support while suitability is processed. Ensure adherence to safety regulations and physical security standards across all infrastructure sites. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues and implement system improvements. Document maintenance activities, system configurations, and incidents thoroughly. Travel as needed throughout the region, with expenses reimbursed, to support multiple FAA facility locations. Qualifications U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain FAA suitability clearance. Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities engineering or management. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent of 12 years of experience. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, power distribution, cabling standards, and building infrastructure. Experience reviewing technical designs and ensuring contractor compliance. Familiar with regulatory, safety, and physical security standards for critical facilities. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to travel regionally as required. Working rights to support this employment.
