About the role
The Facilities Electrical Technician position at Wolfspeed is designed for individuals who can contribute to the 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role involves utilizing expertise to solve complex problems, monitor equipment, and maintain a safe and reliable working environment.
Responsibilities
- Utilize control systems to monitor equipment within the factory, review system trends, respond to alarms, and troubleshoot operational parameters.
- Use root cause analysis to determine failure causes and implement preventive actions to mitigate future system issues.
- Follow established environmental, health, safety, and facilities operational processes and procedures to ensure risks are mitigated and work is completed safely and reliably.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install electrical systems and equipment, including VFDs, MCCs, motors, UPSs, and breakers.
- Update panel schedules, drawings, one-line diagrams.
- Knowledge of electrical standards and code (NFPA70B, NFPA 70E).
Requirements
- Must have a high school degree, GED, or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of industrial maintenance related experience or a combination of education, technical degree, or certificates.
- Must be able to work safely, use all personal protective equipment, and attend training as required by OSHA and job requirements.
- Must communicate and document clearly (verbal and written), and have the ability to work from verbal and written instructions, manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, piping and instrument diagrams, work orders, and specifications.
- Must be an assertive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and direction.
- Must be able to work in a 24-hour on-call situation.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Must be able to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists, including standing or walking over hard concrete surface, and climbing ladders.
