Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and detail-orientated individual to join our manufacturing team as a Facilities Custodian. The Manufacturing Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and organization within the manufacturing facility. This role is essential to ensure a sanitary and efficient working environment for our production team.
Education and Experience Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to chemical handling and waste management.
- Ability to follow instruction and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and a cooperative attitude toward teamwork.
Essential Job Duties
- Perform regular cleaning and sanitation of manufacturing equipment, workspaces, hallways, breakrooms, team rooms, and common areas according to established protocols and safety standards.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of floors throughout the manufacturing facility, paying special attention to high-traffic areas and spill-prone zones.
- Clean and sanitize restroom facilities on a regular basis to ensure hygiene and comfort for employees.
- Maintain accuracy of records of cleaning activities, supply usage, and any incidents or observations related to facility maintenance.
- Clean light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, windows, and window coverings.
- Empties trash and garbage containers.
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Notifies supervisor concerning any need for any maintenance repairs or additions observed.
Working Conditions
- Indoor setting; may participate in outside activities and events.
- Exposure to loud noises, odors, and varying temperatures.
- Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.
- Wears protective clothing and/or personal protective equipment required by the work environment or governmental regulations.
- Exposed to various cleaning chemicals.
Pay
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
