About the Role
The Facilities Crew Member will follow all Winter Park policies and procedures, all applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and all health and sanitation codes. The primary responsibility is to provide janitorial and bussing service to base and mountain facilities, special event assignments, assist guests in a friendly and helpful manner, and support other departments as needed. This role requires a team player who is hardworking, self-motivated, and willing to work extra hours during busy periods. A valid driver's license and good driving record are desirable.
Responsibilities
- Establish work priorities with supervisors and other departments, assigning tasks through daily cleaning schedules.
- Complete daily checklists, work orders, and operational paperwork.
- Track hours worked, tardiness, and absences using the computer program.
- Observe and assist team members to ensure assignments are completed, maintaining a neat appearance and congenial guest interactions.
- Handle guest complaints diplomatically or escalate to a supervisor.
- Maintain janitorial equipment, supplies, and closets.
- Assist with minor repairs of furnishings, fixtures, mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
- Perform opening and closing procedures to ensure facilities are clean, safe, and secure.
- Report and address major malfunctions, unsafe, or unsanitary conditions.
- Maintain security of facilities in coordination with Security personnel.
- Train employees in safety procedures and standards.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and use required safety equipment.
- Set up staging, drapes, skirting, AV equipment, and other special event equipment.
- Operate resort 4x4 trucks and small equipment.
- Assist with janitorial needs and coordinate special events.
- Advise facilities supervisor of supply, equipment, and maintenance needs.
- Direct teams to complete maintenance and cleanup tasks.
- Provide guests and employees with directions and information in a friendly, professional manner.
- Handle first-line conflicts and grievances.
- Perform snow removal and parking duties as assigned.
- Lift and move furniture, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain area cleanliness by picking up trash throughout the day.
- Act as a project leader for assigned tasks.
- Work weekends, holidays, additional hours, and respond to last-minute schedule changes as needed.
- Perform other duties as directed by a supervisor.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Janitorial experience preferred.
- Experience with ladders, scaffolding, and special event equipment setup.
- Public relation skills.
- Ability to operate resort 4x4 trucks and small equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office suite is desirable.
- Public speaking experience is desirable.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and respond to last-minute schedule changes.

Pay
The base hourly pay range for this position is $20 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, training, location, merit system, and other factors.
