Key Responsibilities
- Lead the construction and implementation of IoT systems, driving their integration into our digital transformation roadmap to enhance operational efficiency, data collection, and predictive capabilities.
- Define and communicate facility user requirements, ensuring IoT solution alignment with business goals and market trends.
- Evaluate and refine IoT solutions (sensor networks, edge devices, communication protocols, IoT platforms, etc.) to meet operational requirements, space constraints, mechanical integration needs, and data processing capabilities within TSMC.
- Ensure IoT deployments adhere to best practices to provide a safe, stable, and secure environment for smart devices and data pipeline within TSMC facilities.
- Collaborate with external providers, system integrators, and Facility engineering teams to guide the deployment of stable and high-performance IoT infrastructure and applications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Automation, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related Engineering role.
- Proven hands-on experience in IoT system engineering, including end-to-end solution implementation and infrastructure deployment for IoT systems.
- Demonstrated ability in leading complex, cross-functional IoT technical projects, from conceptualization and architecture design to successful deployment and post-implementation optimization.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings (for device integration), and comprehensive system architecture diagrams for IoT device integration and deployment.
- Solid understanding of IoT hardware components, including various types of sensors (e.g., environmental, proximity, motion), microcontrollers, single-board computers, and connectivity modules, and their integration into physical environments.
- Strong familiarity with embedded systems development, low-power design principles and common IoT communication protocols.
- In-depth knowledge of industry IoT ecosystem including protocol and communication media interface such as Modbus, Serial, Analog and digital and management system like SCADA, MES, ERP, or CMMS systems.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholders (internal teams, technology vendors, system integrators, facility users, and regulatory bodies).
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with advanced IoT technologies and their practical hardware-software integration, such as edge computing, advanced sensor fusion.
- Strong capability in project planning and management, including budget control, timeline adherence, risk mitigation, and a proactive approach to exploring and integrating cutting-edge IoT and automation technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with key IoT technology partners, solution vendors, and industry experts.
- Proven capability in device provisioning, network configuration, and connectivity management for IoT deployments (e.g., setting up and optimizing Wi-Fi, cellular, or LPWAN networks for various IoT devices).
- Familiarity with relevant local and international regulations, cybersecurity standards, and compliance requirements pertinent to industrial IoT deployment and data privacy is a significant plus.
