About the role
The Facilities Associate will perform basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks, according to service, quality, and safety standards under moderate supervision. This position requires flexibility in start time, generally between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, to support business needs.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes Work order system to log activities as required and supports performing or overseeing facilities preventative maintenance or repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC safety, and waste Management systems.
- Assists with production support operations and miscellaneous facilities projects including painting, drywall, carpentry, fixture installations, furniture assembly, moving furniture or materials.
- Assists, as required, with delivering packages between company buildings and performs snow removal as needed.
- Accompanies contractors/vendors for building and facilities issues including electrical, HVAC repairs, cleaning services, mat replacement etc.
- Participates in health and safety committee as an employee representative. Assist the Health & Safety Committee to ensure that required repairs/work are completed in compliance with the H&S requirements.
Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent
- 2 years building maintenance, trade, or contracting experience in the areas of mechanical, HVAC, wall repair, and electrical
- Proficient with Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to take directions and execute as instructed and take a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Effective time management, strong organizational skills, and ability to work with little supervision
- Good verbal and written communication skills (English) mandatory
- Ability and willingness to lift to 75 LBS (up to 40 LBS daily and 75 LBS occasionally)
- Valid driver’s license required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout production or lab environments for extended periods of time
- Sit for extended periods while performing diagnostics, programming, or documentation
- Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach to access equipment and components
- Use hands and fingers for fine motor skills, including handling small parts, tools, wiring, and instrumentation
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40–50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Climb ladders or steps and work at varying heights, when required
- Work in confined spaces or around machinery with moving parts
- See close and at distance, including distinguishing colors, reading schematics, and viewing displays
- Hear and verbally communicate to understand instructions, alarms, and safety warnings
- Work in environments with noise, vibration, or varying temperatures typical of manufacturing or technical workspaces
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, or protective footwear
