Facilities Assistant - Custodial

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of basic custodial and maintenance activities, including year-round groundskeeping and basic utility/maintenance tasks.
• Conduct cleaning activities such as:
  • Vacuuming, shampooing, and hand cleaning carpets and rugs.
  • Picking up trash and litter from grounds, buildings, and buses.
  • Other related cleaning tasks.
• Monitor and manage associated supplies and inventory; notify appropriate individuals when stock levels reach specified thresholds.
• Operate and maintain a variety of cleaning equipment and tools.
• Observe campus buildings and properties; report problems or situations requiring attention to the appropriate individuals.
• Open or lock/secure doors at scheduled times or as requested.
• Perform manual labor activities, including:
  • Gathering materials and equipment.
  • Placing materials in proper locations.
  • Moving furniture and equipment.
  • Assembling furniture.
  • Removing snow and ice from walkways.
  • Setting up and tearing down items for campus meetings and events.
  • Other related activities.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
