About the role
The Facility Assistant 2 is responsible for maintaining the functionality, safety, and cleanliness of a building or facility. Their duties include cleaning, maintenance, and basic repairs, and they may also handle tasks like coordinating office moves, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweeping, mopping, dusting, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the facility. Deep cleaning projects like floor stripping or shampooing.
- Performs in-house maintenance such as corrugated collection and breakdown.
- Basic Repairs: Handling minor repairs such as fixing leaky faucets, replacing light bulbs, or patching walls.
- Inventory Management: Tracking and managing supplies, ensuring adequate stock of cleaning and maintenance materials, and potentially ordering supplies. Performs inventory audits of all supply closets and replenishes supply closets.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensuring a safe work environment by following safety regulations, conducting inspections (PM’s), and addressing potential hazards.
- Coordination and Communication: Working with other departments and personnel to coordinate tasks, respond to requests, perform documented PMs, and ensure smooth operations. Assisting in the Shipping and Receiving department to assist with replenishment, picking orders, and closing station duties.
Requirements
All employees must be aware, have knowledge, and receive general training in Quality requirements of Össur. Specific Quality training is job-specific. Training related to the quality management system is done in accordance to the Training Management Process (PR-00042).
Qualifications
- A high school diploma. A vocational school preference.
- Comfortable and knowledgeable in the everyday business of the distribution environment.
- Comfortable using tools and heights and riding a scissor lift.
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft software products including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to vendors and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
