About the role
The Facilities Assessment Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the functionality and safety of the facilities evaluated and designed by ISG. This position involves working closely with Thad Dahling, Facility Management and Planning Strategist, and Tiara Marcus, Project Management Practice Group Leader.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of building systems and infrastructure, including site conditions, building envelope, interior finishes, accessibility items, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
- Identify maintenance and improvement needs and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Create and manage project schedules based on client needs.
- Work directly with clients to understand their goals and current building or system challenges, incorporating these into the overall project scope.
- Collaborate with internal ISG team members and departments to develop a high-quality product, including customized databases, dashboards, or executive summary reports.
- Assist in creating the final deliverable to the client and review for quality assurance.
- Provide sufficient information during the facility condition assessment to ensure success during subsequent design phases or master planning processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, including five (5)+ years of hands-on experience evaluating building systems.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager (CFM)) are a plus, but relatable industry experience may also be considered.
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field.
- Ability to empathetically connect with clients and internal team members.
- Ability to lead client communication and maintain client relationships for multiple projects.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power BI is beneficial, but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and participate with a variety of team members on different projects at varying levels of development.
- Ability to travel to various locations that ISG serves.
