Facilities and Maintenance Technician Level 1

FCP Euro is hiring a Facilities and Maintenance Technician Level 1 for our fulfillment center in Mesa, AZ. This hands-on role reports directly to the Facilities & Maintenance Assistant Manager. You will provide critical tactical support to keep our high-speed fulfillment center running safely and efficiently. This includes performing preventative maintenance (PM) and rapid troubleshooting on our conveyance, automated print-and-apply systems, fluid power machinery, and racking layouts, alongside general building upkeep. Key Responsibilities and Duties Automation & Mechanical Systems Support Conveyance & Sortation: Perform routine maintenance, belt tracking adjustments, sensor cleaning, and minor mechanical repairs on all motorized conveyorsPrint & Apply Systems: Maintain and troubleshoot automated inline labeling and print-and-apply systems to prevent shipping bottlenecksFluid Power & Mechanics: Execute PM schedules and basic diagnostics on pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic balers, and associated valvingMaterial Handling Equipment: Assemble, disassemble, modify, and repair industrial racking layouts and packstations to optimize workflowPowered Industrial Trucks (PIT): Support routine safety checks and minor mechanical maintenance on the warehouse lift fleet Facilities & General Infrastructure Maintenance Facility Repairs: Conduct structural touch-ups including painting, minor electrical swaps, basic plumbing fixes, and routine HVAC filter/belt replacementsVendor Escort: Act as the primary internal point of contact for external trade vendors (licensed electricians, major HVAC, security, fire suppression)Ticket Queue Management: Monitor the internal facility ticketing system independently to prioritize, status-update, and close out repair requestsWorkspace Cleanliness: Keep maintenance shops, utility rooms, and fulfillment floor technical areas clean, organized, and safe Qualifications and Skills Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on mechanical, machine shop, or automotive repair experience (distribution center or manufacturing environment preferred)Technical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and digital multimeters to diagnose standard mechanical failuresPhysical Demands: Capability to consistently lift, push, or pull up to 60+ pounds and work on ladders or aerial platforms as requiredTech Literacy: Proficiency using internal digital tools including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs) to track maintenance ticketing logsProblem Solving: Critical thinking skills to look past the surface symptom and fix the true root cause of equipment downtimeMeticulous Execution: A strong "paints behind the cabinet" mentality focused on clean, accurate, and durable repairsCommunication: Ability to clearly update operational team leaders on current equipment downtime status and upcoming maintenance windowsEducation: High School Diploma/GED required; progress toward a trade certification or an Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Plumbing is highly preferred Benefits and Perks Company-subsidized Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance including a zero-premium Medical plan option for employees, plus a Company HSA contribution120 hours of PTO, 40 hours of Paid Sick Time, plus paid Company Holidays401(k) retirement plan featuring an automatic Company deposit and matching programDeeply discounted prices on our massive entire catalog of European car parts!
