Face to Face Interpreter – Zomi / Burmese

About the role
As a face-to-face interpreter, you'll use your Zomi and/or Burmese language skills to assist others during medical, social service, and other types of in-person appointments. This is a contractor position offering a flexible schedule with pay based on the number of assignments you accept. Assignments are available 24/7/365, with most occurring during business hours.
Requirements
- Located in the Central Ohio area
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprint-based) and 10-panel drug screening at no cost to you
- Provide proof of completion from an accredited interpreter training program of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy," Court Interpretation, or a Certificate/Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university)
- Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited organization (cost may apply if certification is not provided)
No prior professional interpretation experience is required, and English as a Second Language (ESL) speakers are welcome.
