About the role

As a face-to-face interpreter, you'll use your language skills to assist others during medical, social service, and other types of appointments. Interpreting with Access 2 Interpreters is a flexible way to earn money—you choose your own hours and take as many or as few assignments as you can. Most assignments are available 24/7/365, with the highest demand during business hours. Using your bilingual skills to help those in need is highly rewarding.

Requirements

  • Be located in the Central Ohio area.
  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost to you).
  • Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy," Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
  • Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.

We welcome applicants who speak English and Amharic, Tigrinya, and/or Oromo, including those with no prior professional interpretation experience or who speak English as a second language (ESL).

Pay
