Digital Building Components, a part of the DPR family of companies, is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and organized Installation Superintendent to lead an installation crew for metal panel facades. This role is ideal for someone passionate about prefabrication in the construction industry and willing to travel nationally.
Responsibilities
- Manage DBC’s subcontractors in the field (metal panel, caulking, cranes, deliveries, etc.).
- Lead crew to achieve productivity and stay on schedule.
- Ensure traveling crew adheres to the correct code of conduct while representing DBC.
- Solve field problems and escalate to engineering/management when necessary.
- Schedule and manage the jobsite inspection process, including interaction with inspectors.
- Complete daily reports.
- Manage site logistics, including craning and rigging.
- Identify and document field issues using measurements, digital photos, and email.
- Respond to issues/questions raised in meetings and emails in a timely manner or escalate when unclear.
- Understand, track, and interpret job schedules, and monitor work progress on a daily/weekly basis.
- Recognize and eliminate job site hazards and unsafe work practices.
- Hold jobsite safety meetings with DBC crews.
- Help develop an injury-free environment on all job sites for DBC crews.
- Attend and participate in overall jobsite safety meetings.
- Review, comment, and mark up drawings/spool sheets.
- Manage crew traveling plans.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience with metal stud framing and drywall, including layout and control, framing & hanging, fire ratings & STC ratings, and fire caulking & safing.
- Experience supervising a crew of 15 or more.
- Experience with panelized construction or concrete formwork systems (layout, flying, setting, anchoring, bracing).
- Experience with leading-edge work.
- OSHA 10 & 30 certification.
- Certified Rigging (must achieve in first 2 months).
- First Aid & CPR trained (must achieve in first 2 months).
Skills
- General understanding of welding and waterproofing systems for exterior skin systems.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sections, details, and navigate a model.
- Ability to develop, complete, and communicate pre-task plans, job hazard analysis, crane packages, etc.
- Professional communication with GC teams and other subcontractors/consultants.
- Excellent listening and communication skills, including proficiency with technology (tablet, computer, phone).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with multi-story load-bearing framing systems (wood or gauge steel) is a plus.
- Experience using BlueBeam, Trimble, and Total Station is a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be ready and able to travel throughout the U.S. to installation sites.
