About the role
Digital Building Components, a part of the DPR family of companies, seeks an Installation Superintendent to lead an installation crew of metal panel facades. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth of prefabrication in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Manage DBC subcontractors in the field (metal panel, caulking, cranes, deliveries, etc).
- Lead the crew to achieve productivity and stay on schedule.
- Hold traveling crew to the correct code of conduct while representing DBC.
- Solve field problems, escalating to engineering/management group when necessary.
- Schedule and manage jobsite inspection processes, interacting with inspectors.
- Prepare and submit daily reports.
- Manage site logistics, craning, rigging.
- Identify and document field issues using measurements, digital photos, email.
- Respond to issues/questions raised in meetings and emails promptly or escalate when needed.
- Understand, track, and interpret job schedules as well as monitor work progress on a daily/weekly basis.
- Understand and address job site hazards and unsafe work practices.
- Hold jobsite safety meetings with DBC crews.
- Develop and review drawings/spool sheets.
- Manage crew traveling plans.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience with metal stud framing and drywall.
- Experience supervising a crew of 15 or more.
- Experience with panelized construction or concrete formwork systems (layout, flying, setting, anchoring, bracing).
- Experience with leading edge work and OSHA 10 & 30 certification.
- First Aid & CPR training.
- Experience with multi-story load bearing framing systems (wood or gauge steel) is a plus.
- Experience with BlueBeam, Trimble, and Total Station.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Qualifications
- General understanding of welding.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, sections, details, and navigate a model.
- Ability to develop, complete, and communicate pre-task plans, job hazard analyses, crane packages, etc.
- Excellent listening skills and strong communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines and respond to changes in priorities.
