Fabricator/Grinder

Responsibilities

• Operates all machinery in the fabrication department that may include: Saws (horizontal/vertical/circular), Grinder, Drills (hand/stationary), Forklifts
• Works independently to complete assigned work orders within the allotted amount of time for each job.
• Responsible for setting up work station and equipment.
• Must be able to maneuver fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials according to engineering blueprint.
• Review blueprints, drawings, and other specification papers before starting work on a fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion.
• Complete production paperwork to document material consumed, wasted and produced as well as time needed to complete.
• Must be able to rotate task as needed.
• Must be accountable for own quality and efficiency of work.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in fabrication.
• Experience with precision measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, measuring tape).
• Basic reading and writing in English.
• Excellent math skills able to add and subtract fractions.
• Knowledge in operating hand and power tools common to the fabrication trade.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand the entire work shift.
• Able to perform repetitive job functions; hand mobility, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
• Able to work a flexible work schedule.
