Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards.
• Occasionally (several times a week) train Associate Fabricators and peers.
• Occasionally (several times a week) act as an informal team lead within their workstream.
• May assist or perform ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned.
• Work on three to four device types within a general Orthotic or Prosthetic workstream.
• Maintain 5S to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
• Adhere to all HIPAA and other regulatory compliance training issued by Hanger, Inc.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, and 1 year’s experience working within environments that include: machinery, tools, woodworking, design, fabrication, componentry, etc. OR
• Without high school diploma/GED, 2 years’ experience working within O&P environments that include: machinery, tools, design, fabrication, componentry, etc. OR
• A technical degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics from an accredited school.

Skills

• Knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces) according to specifications.
• Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
• Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.
• Effective organizational, time management, and planning skills.
• Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to perform tasks as indicated on the Skills Matrix.
• Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships.
