Fabricator (2nd Shift)

About the role

As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for bending, seating, flanging and top flanging material according to work order and production drawing specifications in such a manner as to achieve safety, quality, efficiency and lean production goals. Willingness to learn and operate other manual fabrication operations such as shear, weld, punch press, paint, and CNC is required. This is a full-time, 2nd shift position.

Responsibilities

• Operate press brake and other manual fabrication equipment to manufacture parts according to prints and work orders. (75%)
• Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications per procedures using various equipment such as calipers, micrometers and tape measure. Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements. (15%)
• Package finished products in cartons, applying labels, and palletizing finished products. Gather and stage work. Maintain a clean work environment. (10%)

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3 years of related experience and/or training
• Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods
• Operation Monitoring: Ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machines are working properly
• Selective Attention: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
• Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic, addition, and subtraction
• Active Listening: Ability to give full attention to what others are saying, take time to understand points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and not interrupt at inappropriate times
• Ability to read and understand production drawings and pass the exam

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 2:30pm – 1:00am, with overtime as needed. This shift is eligible for a $2.00 shift differential.

Pay

$21.30 - $31.97 per hour plus $2.00 shift differential.

• This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion.
• The employee may frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
• The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Columbus, OH. Relocation is not available for this position. Travel is not required for this role.
