Fabrication Technician

We are a continuous casting aluminum rolling mill established in 1984 and located in Fort Lupton, Colorado, 35 miles north of downtown Denver. We’re honored to be selected by the Department of Energy to receive up to $22.3 million in investment supporting our Nexcast Mini Mill and other breakthrough projects which will steer the aluminum industry toward a greener, decarbonized future.

About the role

Transforms materials into finished products by cutting, bending, shaping, and assembling components.

Responsibilities

• Follow and abide by all plant safety policies and guidelines.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and work orders to understand design requirements, layouts, dimensions, and welding requirements.
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal components and assemblies according to technical plans.
• Join parts using welding, soldering, riveting, or fasteners, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
• Operate various welding machines (e.g., MIG, TIG, arc) and hand power tools.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, functionality, and adherence to specifications.
• Safely operate overhead crane, fork trucks, and other mobile equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate strong proficiency in troubleshooting shop activities.
• Ability to effectively communicate, problem-solve, and multi-task in both slow-paced and fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in multiple welding techniques.
• Self-starter requiring little supervision once training is complete, and self-motivated when not given a specific task.
• Precision-minded.
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel).
• Physically demanding role requiring ability to lift 50 pounds, work in various positions (flat, vertical, and overhead), and reach overhead frequently.

Benefits

• $32+ per hour (dependent on qualifications).
