This hands-on leadership role at our Rogers, MN facility partners with the Manufacturing Manager to hit production goals by coordinating, directing, and actively participating in daily fabrication operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an active member of the fabrication team, maintaining working knowledge of all fabrication processes, including welding, lead bonding, and painting.
- Maintain the production schedule by assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems, and reporting results to the Manufacturing Manager.
- Attend weekly production meetings to provide project status updates to management.
- Coordinate with the MRB board and Engineering team on revisions and changes through the NCR and ECO processes.
- Compile, sort, and analyze production performance data to provide the Manufacturing Manager with monthly manufacturing reports.
- Partner with the Manufacturing Manager on hiring and training new employees.
- Support and help maintain the 5S program.
- Monitor inventory levels on the production floor and communicate issues to supply chain.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on equipment and resources, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Serve as a safety steward by promoting and enforcing safe work practices.
- Conduct employee performance reviews, set annual performance objectives, provide coaching and development, and address employee relations and performance issues as needed.
- Review and approve timecards and PTO requests.
- Lead orientation and training for new employees.
- Monitor and report on fabrication employees' weekly time sheets and PTO.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.
- Some travel (less than 10%) may be required to support installations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a related fabrication, production, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of fabrication duties, including welding, lead bonding, and painting.
- Solid grasp of downstream workflows to ensure production needs are consistently met.
- Prior supervisory experience managing a team of 4–5 fabrication employees.
- Experience providing daily direction on work assignments, along with coaching, training, and guidance on safety, quality, and company policies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, aerial lifts, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet for most of the workday.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pay
Compensation for this position ranges from $34 - $38/hr. based on education and experience.
