Job Summary
Assisting machinists and other skilled workers with their tasks to enhance productivity
Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, which includes sweeping, mopping, and removing trash
Transporting materials and tools to and from the work area as needed
Preparing materials for production, including cutting, sorting, and packaging
Assisting in machine setup and teardown under the supervision of an experienced operator
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures
Performing basic maintenance tasks and troubleshooting under supervision
Participating in team meetings and contributing to productivity improvement discussions
Responsibilities
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
- Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw gun, magnetic drill, grinders, saws
- Operate calipers, tape measures, and other hand tool
- Perform self-quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Utilize horizontal and vertical bandsaws to cut material
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, take out trash, sweep floors
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED
- 1 years fabrication experience preferred
- Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred
- Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
- Must be able to read a tape measurer
- Must be able to work well with others
Physical Demands & Abilities
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Ability to operate a fork-lift
