Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, manage, and execute fabrication production schedules aligned with project priorities and delivery milestones.
- Cook up close with detailing, procurement, and project management teams to sequence work efficiently and avoid production bottlenecks.
- Proactively adjust shop priorities to respond to schedule changes, material availability, or project-driven demands.
- Lead, schedule, and supervise fabrication shop personnel, including welders, fitters, and helpers.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement consistent with Greenberry values.
- Support workforce development through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Serve as a visible, hands-on leader on the shop floor, setting expectations through example.
- Ensure all fabricated work complies with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and Greenberry quality standards.
- Enforce safety policies and OSHA compliance across all shop activities.
- Lead regular safety meetings and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Partner with quality and engineering teams to resolve technical issues, nonconformances, and fabrication challenges.
- Oversee steel inventory, consumables, and material tracking to support uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor material usage and minimize waste while maintaining fabrication quality.
- Ensure fabrication equipment, tools, and cranes are maintained in safe, operable condition.
- Schedule and track preventative maintenance and repairs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shop layout, workflow, and efficiency.
- Monitor labor hours, productivity, and material usage against project budgets.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to improve shop performance.
- Provide input and reporting on fabrication progress, labor trends, and production metrics.
Experience
- Proven supervisory or management experience within a structural steel or industrial fabrication shop environment.
Technical Expertise
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop drawings.
Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to lead craft personnel with clear communication, sound judgment, and accountability.
Systems & Tools
- Experience using ERP systems or fabrication/project management software to track production and labor.
Hands-On Capability
- Willingness and ability to serve as a working leader; proficient in welding and fabrication processes.
Safety Mindset
- Strong commitment to safety leadership and regulatory compliance in a fabrication environment.
