Fabrication Production Clerk

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with manufacturing to track progress of production to support on-time delivery of manufacturing orders
  • Communicate constraints to the Fabrication Planner, Master Planner, and Leadership
  • Perform quantity checks on fabrication manufacturing orders
  • Research and report discrepancies to the Master Planner for manufacturing order accuracy
  • Analyze daily and weekly orders received and assist in assigning lead times based on company capacities, capabilities, and constraints
  • Communicate any material substitutions with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering departments
  • Immediately notify maintenance of any equipment malfunctions
  • Report and escalate potential issues (e.g., equipment downtime) that may impact manufacturing schedules
  • Maintain production reports
  • Notify Supervisor of non-compliance
  • Follow plant safety and 5S policies; report any injuries or near misses immediately
  • Maintain efficient communication with all leadership about orders
  • Encourage and motivate team members
  • Attend “Clear to build” meetings with planning staff
  • Lead by example and handle all issues professionally
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Fabrication Supervisor
  • Know and follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in all HPT functions

Requirements

  • Good computer skills, including Excel and working knowledge of an ERP system
  • Over 6 months to 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing
  • Equivalent to 1 to 3 years of applied trades training
  • Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing orders and routers
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to use judgment to comply with instructions and perform work routines involving order accuracy
  • Exceptional attendance

  • Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to warm to hot weather conditions and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high and will require hearing protection
