About the role

Atlas Molded Products is seeking a Fabrication Machine Operator for the Byron Center, MI facility.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and package parts according to specification pages and record required information on in-process sheets.
  • Cut, bundle, wrap, stack, pack, assemble, and label materials per specific production instructions.
  • Operate and maintain machinery such as wire cutting, CNC cutting, hauling, conveyor systems, wrapping equipment, hi-lo operation, and one-person lifting equipment.
  • Verify equipment set-up throughout the process, continuous operations, and power down of manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain productivity standards and verify all job requirements of the final products with the correct density, material, weight, size, and shape within given quality tolerance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Operate Pre-breakers/Re-Grinding equipment to recycle EPS.
  • Perform any other assigned functions and responsibilities.
  • Participate in Safety requirements, Quality Systems, and Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance is required.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), preferred.
  • Ability to use simple math, count, and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of basic safety standards such as Lock Out Tag procedures.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and OSHA safety standards.
  • Light to moderate physical effort required, including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, and reaching both forward and above head level.
  • Ability to tolerate temperature changes for the entire shift.
  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate assigned machinery.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
