ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exhibit active leadership in order to model and support the company’s vision and strategies
  • Communicate effectively with supervisor, team members and other shifts as needed
  • Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
  • Support and enforce the job rotation as stated and comply with when working in production. Strenuous or repetitive jobs must rotate at a minimum of every 4 hours to prevent the risk of injury
  • Continuous build relationships throughout the department and company in order to best serve and support co-workers and employees
  • Provide leadership to department team members:
    • Communicate priorities and project assignments
    • Develop and implement adequate cross-training
    • Provide continuing education, training and development opportunities
    • Coach employees to support their growth within their position and the company
    • Maintain expectations and responsibilities
    • Monitor employee performance and execute employee performance reviews
    • Delegate special projects
    • Identify and implement methods for reducing costs and expenses in the department
    • Review and analyze department data and trends to make continuous improvement recommendations
    • Apply continuous improvement techniques to improve department operations
  • Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
  • Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders:
    • Review manufacturing orders for accuracy and to verify internal/external customer specifications
    • Ensure all quality practices are being followed
    • Perform inspections of aluminum parts and validate inspection data
    • Pack orders based on customer specifications
    • Follow and maintain current work center schedule to ensure customer service and satisfaction
  • Continually support and improve the department’s key measures
  • Create and train Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)
  • Monitor and recommend appropriate process improvements to safety, rates, yield and inspection techniques

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Associates degree in Machine Tool or other related program preferred
  • Experience: 2+ years of manufacturing experience required, 1+ years of leadership experience preferred
  • Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to recognize safety concerns
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to provide strong servant leadership to support team members
    • Ability to take part in continuous education and training
    • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in every situation
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of all key department operations
    • Knowledgeable in companywide computer systems and programs
    • Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated cell area
    • Work flexible hours, overtime and on-call
    • Strong math skills
    • Ability to detect minor defects in the finish of the product
    • Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts according to customer specifications

Pay Range

The anticipated pay range for this position is $20.00-$29.60/hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors include job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs and geographic location.
