Position Summary Operates a wide variety of machinery such as Brake Press, Spot Welders, Punch Press, and other similar equipment to fabricate sheet metal according to production demands & specifications. OPERATIONS Ownership - Takes ownership to ensure best results and responsibilities are achieved as expectedInterpret and follow blueprints and use measuring tools for designed machine operationAbility to set up, operate, and maintain all machinery ensuring it is in good working orderSet up machines according to the specifications of the taskMonitor machines while they execute the tasks and make necessary adjustments to produce a better resultTest and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand toolsReport any malfunctions or defects to the team leader or supervisor immediatelyMeets production to attain daily ratesSupports shift leader and able to provide direction and train other team membersWill be required to work at various workstations, depending on production needs QUALITY ASSURANCE Measure and inspect finished products to ensure they adhere to production needs which meet print specifications CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT Orange Card Program - Actively participates in OCP and submits 1 plus cards per monthIdentify and eliminate process waste SAFETY Maintain a clean and safe work environment per 6S ProgramFollow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipmentAssist co-workers in being safe by correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors when seen WORK ETHICS Attendance - Manages personal attendance in accordance with Attendance PolicyDemonstrates interest in mentoring others and improving their job skills and experienceSelf-motivated - works with minimal supervision, assisting others Skills & Abilities Math - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsCommunication - Good verbal and non-verbal communication skillsProblem Solving - Strong ability to identify issues and offer solutionsAbility to read/interpret prints and measuring toolsStrong time management and organizational skills; ability to meet production demands and needsSatisfactory teamwork and communication; the ability to work effectively with others and have clear/concise communication Education & Experience High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)One to two years related manufacturing fabrication experience in sheet metal required WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection. Employee is required to wear safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.
