Fab Operator - 2nd Shift - Salina, KS

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Set up, tend and operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, roller, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, punch machines, laser cutting, CNC plasma, etc.
• that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures
• Review engineering releases and create press brake programming as needed
• Determine proper press brake tooling to use on all operations
• Assist operators on press brake set-ups and functions
• Create DAVI Roller programs and assist operators as needed
• Understand, modify and create G Codes for AMADA CNC Turret Punch Press
• Measure work piece dimensions with varying measuring devices to determine accuracy of machine operation
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces
• Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment

Preferred Skill And Qualifications

• One to three years’ experience as a fabrication operator or similar
• Strong understanding of computer functions and various software
• Must be able to read prints and understand all press brake operations
• Must have strong math skills, including proficiency with fractions and decimals
