About the role

Seeking an F-35 Aircraft Electrician (Mech 3/4) for F-35 Aircraft Maintenance, Upgrade, and Overhaul (MUO) Contract Field Team (CFT) at NAS Lemoore, CA. This role involves depot-level modifications performed at Department of Navy (DoN) locations. Clearance required for start: Secret. Travel required: 10% of the time. No relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring and coaxial cables in aircraft.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical systems for compliance with specifications.
  • Cut, strip, and insulate wires; attach wiring and electrical systems to fixtures and accessories using bolts, screws, or solder.
  • Repair, remove, and reinstall wiring as needed; monitor quality in accordance with control procedures.
  • Isolate faults, troubleshoot, and repair system failures found during operational checks, especially after modifications and maintenance.
  • Use aircraft ground support equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems.
  • Interpret and use test equipment, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.
  • Read and interpret engineering documentation, technical manuals, and repair manuals, including symbols, flags, and notes.
  • Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown in engineering documentation and technical orders.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required to safely perform job tasks.
  • Assist in other technical disciplines as requested by Team Leads or management as part of the CFT.
  • Document completed maintenance, parts tags, logs/records, parts requests, etc.
  • Comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD control, and HazMat handling procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period.
  • Willingness to provide temporary support at other CFT locations (MCAS Beaufort, MCAS Cherry Point, MCAS Miramar).
  • Ability to meet physical demands: lift up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, work overhead, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
  • Flexible work schedule, including extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call support 24/7/365.

Qualifications

Mech 3

  • 4 years of relative work experience as an Aircraft Electrician / Avionics Tech equivalent to USAF 5 level or DoN CDI.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, and test procedures.

Mech 4

  • 6 years of relative work experience as an Aircraft Electrician / Avionics Tech equivalent to USAF 7 level or DoN CDQ.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, and test procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MOU/Depot or Contract Field Team experience with complex aircraft modifications or aircraft reset experience.
  • F-35 maintenance experience, including knowledge of mission system run-ups, troubleshooting, and software loading procedures.
  • Experience with F-35 sustainment tools: Product Data Manager (PDM), JSF Data Library (JDL), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $63,500.00 - $105,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $75,500.00 - $125,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline. Base salary offers consider the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
