Responsibilities
- Understanding pre / post flight activities and inspections
- Performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance with all applicable directives
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing aircraft and engine systems
- Conducting diagnosis of malfunctions
- Performing maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations
- Able to read and interpret wiring schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
- Able to setup and use a torque wrench and use common hand tools such as: wrenches, safety wire pliers, etc.
- Able to remove, replace, and function check aircraft components and assemblies
- Maintain electrical and instrument systems, including power generation, conversion, and distribution
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of FA-18E/F experience and familiarity with inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs
- Maintain an active secret DOD clearance
- Comprehensive written and verbal English communication skills
- Able to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements
- Able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
- Able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment
- Ability to successfully pass vision screen and color blindness tests
- The ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces
- Able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements
