Extrusion Technician – Menomonie, WI*

About the role

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. Shift: Fixed 12-hour night shift, 6 pm to 6 am; alternating weekly between Monday-Wednesday and Monday-Thursday Starting Pay $28.41 per hour plus shift premiumPay increases throughout the first year as you learn new tasks and take on more responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe work behaviors and look out for hazards
• Set up and operate the extruders, die and resin handling systems, and supporting equipment
• Conduct testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods to ensure conformance to product specifications
• Perform preventative maintenance, changeovers, and troubleshooting on equipment
• Work on elevated platforms up to 5 stories high
• Maintain timely and accurate production reporting documentation

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (completed before the start date)
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and overtime as required
• Reliable transportation to Menomonie, WI (54751), or relocation before starting
• Experience working on equipment in extrusion, automotive repair, farm operations, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or similar mechanical environments

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience with equipment teardowns, troubleshooting, machine setup, and changeovers
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Attention to detail
• Experience operating Powered Industrial Vehicles safely
• Ability to work comfortably at elevated heights
• Post high-school education or training
• Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented work style

Pay

The starting rate of pay for this position is $28.41. This targeted compensation range represents a good faith estimate and can vary based on factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
