Primary Job Responsibilities
- Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
- Completion of shift production and reporting paperwork
- Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Production Supervisor
- Meet quality specifications for all products produced
- Preform Preventive Maintenance on all equipment as needed
- Troubleshoot process and mechanical problems and perform repairs and adjustments to meet production needs as required
- Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance
- Maintain ability to operate various production lines and processes effectively
- Maintain facility housekeeping
- Maintain and build job skills through company training programs
- Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies on all production lines
- Adequately adhere to PLP product sampling schedule
- Adequately adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, certification requirements
- Perform tooling changeovers in an efficient manner
- Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent, desired
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities
- Ability to operate heavy machinery
- Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within manufacturing environment
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Punctual with good attendance
- Previous manufacturing machine operation or extrusion experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet
- Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 12 continuous hours
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion, such as: walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, gripping, and standing
- Ability to work in temperature extremes
- Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast repetitious operation
